VA Remote App
VA Remote
is our new mobile app that allows you to send your Voice Commands
via your mobile to the Assistant with a push of a button.
You can download the VA Remote
app onto your Android mobile device by installing it from Google Play Store.
Note
All voice commands sent from the App to the Assistant are end-to-end encrypted for an extra layer of security.
Setting up the Plugin
In order to setup a proper communication connection between the app and the Assistant you must ensure that the Remote Control plugin
is enabled and the Port Number
is the same between the App and the Assistant.
The default port number is
3101
Note
Both the App and your Assistant must be connected to the same network (Wi-Fi) and must use the same Port Number
Checking Connection
In order to check if a Port Number is available and a connection can be made to the Assistant on the same number, we first recommend that you open the Connection
page and tap on Test Remote Connection
If you receive a message that says the connection check was successful then it means the Port number is available and the specify Port number will be used in the future to communicate with the Assistant.
Note
The Port number in the Connection
test page is automatically stored (if changed) and is used to send all future speech commands to the Assistant.
Sending Voice Commands
Once all the connection checks are successful you can go ahead and tap on the Send Voice Command
button on the Command Center
page and a voice recognition dialog will show up to listen to your voice command. Once you stop speaking the voice command will be sent to the Assistant.
